Press Release

Strategic Investment

The Management Team at Joint Efficient Developments Consultancy (JEDCO), are pleased to confirm the recent investment to secure 50% ownership of Reference Marine International (RMI), a trusted provider of technical advisory services and execution support to the Energy, Marine and Infrastructure sectors.

Formed in 2013 as Reference Marine Services, RMI has been providing support to a wide range of customers across Upstream and Midstream industries, specifically focused in the LNG and Marine transportation markets.  In addition to the proven track record and case studies of providing advisory and execution support to Oil & Gas companies, Ship Owners and Operators, Contractors, Investors and more, RMI also hold several patents that add value to packaged-up solutions.

JEDCO and RMI signed a collaboration agreement back in 2018, and since then both management teams have been progressing several project and investment opportunities in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.  In January this year RMI secured a project management contract for a new LNG Terminal Project in West Africa, and to support this and all other strategic developments, the management teams agreed to join forces and setup Reference Marine International as a 50/50 joint venture business in Singapore.

From the Management Team

“This Strategic investment complements JEDCO’s business model by adding more value to our Technical consultancy and Project Execution service lines, with RMI’s extensive LNG and Marine experience. The suite of inspection services not only allows us to survey existing fleet vessels, but enables us to offer pre-purchase and condition assessments in the marine and offshore fields, including use of our portable ROVs for underwater inspection, and 4k aerial photography from our drones, which is key when looking for donor vessels for conversion, and lower cost LNG Import / Export Terminals. RMI will also help to enhance the services available at JEDCO’s recently announced “Commissioning Hub”, with their experience in marine system overhaul, preservation and commissioning. Moving forward RMI and JEDCO will execute projects hand in hand, whilst ensuring maximum value to our customers.”

Craig Bennett – Executive Director, JEDCO and RMI

“This partnership opens up the services and facilities that RMI required in order to expand the business.  The access to management services allows more time to concentrate on the technical aspects of the job in hand, while the access to both companies Solution Partners, allows for a much greater range of services and facilities.  Taken together this makes RMI a considerably more attractive package to potential customers while still maintaining RMI’s core ideals of top-quality engineering services.”

John Macdonald – Executive Director, RMI
